Pearland City Council approves design contract for Green Tee Terrace Trail
The way has been cleared for work to start on Green Tee Terrace Trail, with Pearland City Council's approval of a $477,000 contract for design work of the recreational trail. The $4.1 million project will extend an approximately 8,000-feet-long, 10-feet-wide hike and bike trail along the Clear Creek Corridor from Broadway through Province Village to Clear Creek then over the creek to Hughes Road. The trail plan includes benches, bike racks, trail signage, trash receptacles, water fountains, shade structures and a pedestrian bridge over Clear Creek.
The Professional services contract consists of trail and bridge design and drainage report and landscape design, environmental documents, surveying and geotechnical study. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will reimburse the City up to 80 percent of expenditures or approximately $435,897 of the $477,084 contract and the City will be responsible for 100 percent of the cost in excess of that amount or approximately $41,187.
The project is a Houston Galveston Area Council Local Government Participation Project that was selected to receive federal Transportation Enhancement funds and Surface Transportation Program, Metropolitan Mobility Off-System federal funds in 2013.
