Residents rate city services in biennial Citizen Survey
Pearland residents are generally as satisfied as they were two years ago with life in Pearland according to a biennial independent research survey conducted by the National Research Center. Eighty eight percent of residents feel the quality of life in Pearland is good or excellent and residents overwhelmingly feel that Pearland is a good/excellent place to live.
The random survey 1,800 households was conducted online and via mail. It began in October and was completed last month. Results of the survey provide valuable feedback in improving the quality of city services. Most services offered by Pearland received high ratings with fire prevention, Animal Services and emergency preparedness showing increases in service satisfaction.
Mobility ratings increased slightly but still show opportunities for improvement. Only half of Pearland residents gave mobility an excellent or good rating. 40 percent rated the ease of walking as excellent or good and 24 percent rated the traffic flow as excellent or good. Public safety satisfaction continues to receive high marks with with 91 percent of respondents rating the Police Department as excellent or good and 95 percent of residents responding that they felt safe in their neighborhood.
Regarding communications, a majority of respondents (93 percent) obtain information from the City website with City publications (79 percent) and social media (79 percent) also receiving high ratings.
