Moving forward, the City will continue to use services associated with this contract for repairs and maintenance on an as needed basis, to be determined by the City of Pearland Public Works Department. The City currently utilizes the benefits of this contract to conduct the removal and replacement of failed sidewalks, construct of new sidewalks and wheelchair ramps.

Last year, Pearland City Council approved a FY 2017 Budget that allocated $630,000 towards the repair of sidewalks. The City currently has 476.2 miles of sidewalk in the City limits, of that total approximately 124 miles or 1/4 is in need of repair. This type of work is an annual maintenance and repair effort to address sidewalks city wide.
