The City of Pearland Communications Department has been awarded the Keep Pearland Beautiful (KPB) Environmental Award in Media for their efforts to promote conservation in Pearland in the past year, including:
- Promotion of a new program that enabled curbside recycling of unwanted clothing, shoes and home goods by residents
- Promotion of KPB programs, activities and services through inclusion in the Calendar & Annual Report
- Collaboration on the 21st Annual Earth Day Celebration
“We are honored to receive this award and will continue to work to further conservation efforts in Pearland that lead to a more sustainable future for generations to come, “ said Sparkle Anderson, City of Pearland Director of Communications.
Keep Pearland Beautiful Environmental Awards honor select individuals and organizations who have made a significant contribution to conserving and improving the environment in Pearland in the past year. Award categories include the Stella Roberts Golden Pear Award, Business of the Year, Weldon Flanakin Recycler of the Year Award, Nick Santoro Re-use Award, Cleanup Award, Beautification Award and Educator of the Year Award.
