Phase 2 of the Trail Connectivity Project is expected to be complete in March. Since contracts for the project were awarded by City Council last November, contractors have established a trail from the southwest corner of the Veterans Drive Detention pond to Magnolia Road and storm piping at Veterans Drive. Ongoing work includes placing concrete for the trail along Veterans Drive, ordering of shade structures and installation of park furnishings and equipment and the installation of a crosswalk at the Fite Road intersection.

Phase 2 of the Trail Connectivity project was included in the 2013-2017 Capital Improvement Program with the aim to construct a segment of trail that connects Centennial Park to Independence Park and provides an important link in the system for pedestrian and bicycle use between the two regional parks. The phase is expected to be complete by March 2018.

The City of Pearland's connectivity trail system is ever-expanding, and continues to present exciting opportunities to tie-in with, and become a part of, the greater Houston alternative transportation network. Themed areas of trails, exciting amenities and attractive trail heads continue to encourage and promote environmentally-friendly modes of transportation.
