Fire Station #1 to break ground on Thursday, June 14.
On Thursday, June 14 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. the City of Pearland Fire Department and City Officials will be at the construction site for Fire Station #1 located at the corner of Old Alvin and McHard Road for a Groundbreaking Ceremony.
Parking will be available at the Learning Experience, located at 3547 McHard Rd.
The relocation and construction of Fire Station #1 will replace the existing Fire Station #1 that has served the City of Pearland for 48 years but is beyond its service life. The new location will better accommodate 24-hour operations and improve response times in the area.
The Fire Station will be approximately 10,300 square feet and house one four-person engine crew and one two-person ambulance crew. The Station will include sleeping rooms, restrooms with showers, and a kitchen dining area, a dayroom, a Lieutenant office, a station command office, and exercise room.
The equipment area will consist of three-60 foot deep drive-thru apparatus bays, a bunker gear storage area, medical supply storage, and an EMS decontamination area. Additionally, this station will have an emphasis on firefighter health by separating the dirty duty and clean living spaces and providing decontamination showers.
The building will be designed to add 2 - 60 foot deep apparatus bays in the future.
