Fire Station #1 Construction Progress
Crews have been hard at work, under the supervision of the Pearland Engineering and Capital Projects team, building the new Fire Station #1. The new station replaces the original Station #1, which has reached the end of its life. The new station, will be approximately 11,150 sq. ft. It will house living quarters and include sleeping areas for 8 full-time staff, kitchen/ dining, dayroom, offices, utility rooms, bathrooms, storage and a IT room with alerting and security system. The station includes three 60 foot pull-thru apparatus bays to house Fire and EMS apparatus, EMS secure storage, equipment maintenance, and Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) equipment room. The facility will also contain a weight room, lieutenant office, watch office and bathrooms. This facility will be the first City of Pearland Fire Station to include a clean/decontamination area with showers and a bathroom.
Current project highlights include:
- Steel beams and columns are 100% installed
- All welds and bolts have been inspected, and have passed inspections
- Fire sprinkler line are being installed
- Exterior stone and brick work has started
- Wood Framing is at 85% complete
- Centerpoint Gas has tapped the gas line and ran it to the building

It is scheduled to be finished in March 2019, at which time all of the equipment and furniture can be installed.
