The City of Pearland’s Parks & Recreation Department invites residents and visitors to the Delores Fenwick Nature Center Grand Opening, which will take place Saturday, March 9 from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. The event will feature interactive nature and wildlife exhibits, a nature art show, a presentation on birds of prey, and food trucks.

As part of the John Hargrove Environmental Complex, the nature center will serve as Pearland’s environmental education facility, providing hands-on educational opportunities to the community through programs, workshops, and field trips.

The Nature Center will feature a freshwater, native fish aquarium; live animal exhibits, touch and craft tables, interactive exhibits, a large classroom, an outdoor pavilion with picnic tables and benches, approximately 2 miles of walking/running trails, native bird rookeries, line and pole fishing, and access to both the Edible Fruit Trail and the Fite Road Bat Colony Observation area.

Admission to the Nature Center is free, while programs and workshops are subject to additional fees. Regular hours of operation will be Tuesday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
