Have a Holly Jolly Christmas at Pearland’s Hometown Christmas Festival and Parade
The City of Pearland is kicking off the holiday season with the 38th Annual Hometown Christmas Festival and Parade. The festival will take place at Independence Park on Friday, December 6th beginning at 7 p.m. while the Parade will occur the following day, Saturday, December 7th, starting at 6 p.m. The parade route will occur along FM 518, starting at Old Alvin Road and ending at Pearland Parkway.
Friday's Hometown Christmas Festival will include family-friendly activities, food vendors, strolling entertainment, and live performances. The event will culminate with a special visit from Santa Claus himself as we light the City’s Christmas tree. Following the tree lighting, guests can kick back and enjoy a holiday screening of the movie Elf, presented by UHCL Pearland.
Guests are encouraged to dress for the weather and to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Event parking is available at Pearland High School at 3775 S. Main St. Accessible parking will be available onsite to those with disabled license plates or hanging placards. For accessible parking, enter the park from John Lizer and Liberty Drive intersection. Please note Independence Park will be closed on December 6th, prior to the Festival, to setup. The pre-event park closure will include the playground, pavilion, trail and dog park.
The following day’s Hometown Christmas Parade will feature fa-la-la-la-festive floats, lights, and parading bands marching through FM 518 from Old Alvin Road to Pearland Parkway.
Spectators may park in the shopping centers along the parade route at no cost, and are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs or blankets.
For the health and safety of our guests, we ask that you do not bring pets to either event. Service dogs in harness are permitted. Food and beverage in non-glass containers are also permitted.
