City of Pearland Welcomes Crystal Roan as New City Secretary
The City of Pearland has named Crystal Roan as the new City Secretary.
Roan comes to Pearland with 25 years of municipal experience in various departments, including the Office of the City Secretary, where she served with the City of Webster as City Secretary and Deputy City Secretary for 12 years.
As Pearland’s City Secretary, Roan will be responsible for Council administration, public information requests, records maintenance, and parliamentary procedure among other duties.
“I am excited Crystal will be joining our team,” said Deputy City Manager Jon Branson. “She is recognized as an expert in her field and I have no doubt that she will provide excellent services to the citizens of Pearland and to her colleagues within the organization.”
Roan has certifications as a Texas Registered Municipal Clerk, Certified Municipal Clerk and Texas Notary Public. She has served regularly on various Texas Municipal Clerks Association Committees in both Chair and Member capacities and has presented in election law seminars. Roan also has emergency management experience, as well as experience from the office of the city manager.
The mission of the City Secretary's Office is to provide Council with all pertinent information for preparation for City Council Meetings; maintain all records and actions generated from City Council meetings, in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act; authenticate all official documents; safeguard official records and files; coordinate administration of City elections; provide the Public with information in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act; maintain historical records and archives; administer oath of office to new City employees and officials; maintain claims information log; and issue beer and peddler permits and provide excellent customer service to the public in a timely, professional and efficient manner.
