City of Pearland Extends Health and Safety Policy Order to October 10th

Post Date:09/11/2020 3:59 pm

With growing concerns regarding volatility of COVID-19 case counts, rates of infection, and hospitalizations Mayor Tom Reid signed another extension of the current health and safety order that requires businesses to post a policy requiring face coverings until 11:59 p.m. on October 10th

The original health and safety order requires that all commercial businesses in the City of Pearland that offer goods or services to the public must implement a policy requiring all employees and visitors over the age of 10 to wear a face covering. Face coverings include professional-grade and homemade masks, scarves, bandanas and handkerchiefs.

Businesses must post their policy in a visible location to provide notice of these health and safety requirements to employees and visitors. Business who fail to develop, implement, and post this order may be subject to a fine not to exceed $1,000 per violation.

In addition to this health and safety order, the City is also encouraging businesses and residents to continue social distancing and hand sanitizing.
