Pearland Launches Public Survey for Old Town Revitalization Plan: Share Your Thoughts Now!
The City of Pearland recently launched the first phase of the planning process to develop a new Old Town Revitalization Plan and is now ready to receive public input.
The Old Town Revitalization Plan is set to create a strategic vision for growth and development. The Old Town Revitalization Plan will be a strategic document that outlines the goals, actions, timeline, and cost of improving the Old Town area. The Plan will be developed through a public visioning process, a survey of existing conditions, and an economic assessment. This vision is not just about a better future for Old Town and its users but also about enhanced connections to the rest of the city, a quality public realm, and an improved quality of life for residents, workers, and visitors.
The project, funded by the Pearland Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) and done in collaboration with the City of Pearland, is a nine-month-long planning effort that will create strategic goals and actions around topics such as development and urban design, streets and mobility, infrastructure and transportation, and parks and open space. The planning effort study is being led by Olsson Studio, a national planning and urban design firm, in partnership with Baxter & Woodman and CDS Community Development Strategies.
The first step is to gather public input through a survey to understand better what residents and stakeholders desire for Old Town's future. Respondents are asked to share their thoughts on the area's current state and future opportunities, where findings will ultimately be used to develop goals and strategies for this Plan. The public survey is live NOW until October 4th—visit www.pearlandoldtownsite.com to take it today.
