The City of Pearland and Pearland Police Officers’ Association have come to an agreement in pursuant to the Meet and Confer provisions of Chapter 142 of the Local Government Code. The mutually beneficial agreement reflects a shared commitment to public safety and the officers who protect the community.
The agreement allows for the PPOA and the City to address employment matters, including modifying the applicability of specific statutes, the entry-level hiring process, wages, promotions, demotions, and vacation accruals.
“This agreement reflects the strong partnership between the Pearland Police Officers’ Association and the City of Pearland,” said Officer Davis Vo, President of the PPOA. “We appreciate the City’s collaborative approach in working with us to support the dedicated men and women who serve and protect our community every day.”
The Pearland City Council approved ratification of the agreement during its regular meeting on June 9th. The agreement is effective until September 30, 2027.
