Pearland Animal Services Launches Musical Enrichment Partnership with Wild Tunes

Post Date:10/29/2025 3:08 pm

The City of Pearland’s Animal Services Division is excited to announce a new partnership with Wild Tunes, an innovative animal and music enrichment program designed to enhance the shelter environment and promote the wellbeing of its animals.

The program will officially launch on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Shari D. Coleman Animal Shelter, located at 8311 Freedom Dr., Pearland, TX 77581. Community members are encouraged to visit, play or sing for the shelter pets, or simply enjoy the live music and celebration of this new enrichment effort.

Founded by 12-year-old Houston native Yuvi Agarwal, Wild Tunes harnesses the power of music to reduce stress in animals, foster positive connections with people, and create a more soothing and welcoming atmosphere in shelters. The program provides participating shelters with a ready-to-use toolkit that makes implementation simple and impactful.

"We’re always looking for new ways to enhance the lives of the animals in our care," said Randee Guy, Pearland Animal Services’ Program Coordinator. "Partnering with Wild Tunes allows us to introduce an innovative, research-backed approach to animal welfare—one that benefits both our pets and the people who come to meet them."

"Pearland Animal Services continues to embrace creative, compassionate solutions to improve animal welfare," said Josh Craft, Pearland Animal Services Manager. "This partnership reflects our community’s commitment to innovative care and creating positive experiences for both animals and residents."
