Pearland Parks and Recreation Brings the Holiday Spirit Home

Post Date:11/20/2025 2:36 pm

The most wonderful time of the year is upon us, and Pearland Parks and Recreation is ready to celebrate with the return of the annual Hometown Christmas Festival and Hometown Christmas Parade!

The festivities begin with the Hometown Christmas Festival on Friday, December 5, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Independence Park (3449 Pearland Parkway), followed by the Hometown Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 6, at 6 p.m. along FM 518 (Broadway) from Old Alvin Road to Pearland Parkway.

Admission to both events is free, offering an unforgettable way for families, friends, and neighbors to enjoy the sights and sounds of the season together.

The City of Pearland is also proud to partner with KHOU 11 on their 24th Annual Secret Santa Toy Drive, benefiting The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program. This initiative helps bring holiday joy to children and families in need throughout our community. Now through December 13, you can donate new, unwrapped toys at one of KHOU’s participating locations. Pearland locations include the Delores Fenwick Nature Center (5750 Magnolia Pkwy.), the Pearland Recreation Center (4141 Bailey Rd.), and UFCU Pearland (2940 Broadway Bend). Visit KHOU.com/toys for donation information and become a Secret Santa today!

Hometown Christmas Festival

Friday’s festival will captivate visitors with H-E-B's Winter Wonderland, where visitors will be able to experience a touch of winter magic; the Digital Photo Glambot Experience sponsored by Quick Snap Events, where families can capture and instantly share festive memories; and a spectacular Drone Show, presented by the University of Houston–Clear Lake at Pearland, beginning at 8:30 p.m., rounding out the night.

Additional hallmarks of the festival include on-stage entertainment, live music, shopping, holiday lights, inflatables, food trucks, and more, with the stage program featuring Mayor Kevin Cole, City Council members, community leaders and Santa Claus himself as they join together to spread Christmas cheer.

Parking: General parking will be available at Pearland High School (3775 S. Main), with handicap accessible parking located at the Independence Park Liberty Drive entrance.

Hometown Christmas Parade presented by UFCU

On Saturday, December 6, the Pearland’s 43rd annual Hometown Christmas Parade Parade — proudly presented by UFCU — will bring the holiday spirit to life under this year’s theme, “Classic Christmas Stories!”

Once upon a December, the streets of Pearland come alive with twinkling lights, festive music, and the wonder of the season. Families are invited to line the streets of Broadway to watch as dazzling floats inspired by beloved Christmas classics glide by, accompanied by marching bands, dance teams, and a few magical surprises—plus an appearance by Santa himself!

Bundle up, bring your holiday spirit, and join us for a charming celebration that feels straight out of your favorite Christmas special.

UFCU, one of Texas’ leading credit unions serving the Greater Houston area for over seven decades, recently opened its first Pearland location and is proud to support traditions that bring neighbors together.

“As the newest members of the Pearland community, we are excited to present the 2025 Hometown Christmas Parade,” said Janice Matthews, UFCU Vice President – Retail. “We are a people-first credit union and are proud to sponsor this great tradition.”

Hometown Christmas Lights powered by Bayway Chevrolet

The celebration doesn’t end there! Throughout the month of December, Independence Park will glow brightly with the Hometown Christmas Lights display. Guests are welcome to take an evening stroll, snap a festive photo, and make memories that will last all season long.

This year’s lights are powered by Bayway Chevrolet, with the Light Display Photo Moments sponsored by Frontier Waste Solutions, Lone Star Recreation, Texas Emergency Care Center, ServPro Team Zubricki, and Associated Credit Union of Texas.

And for those looking to add even more sparkle to the season, keep the holiday fun rolling with the Forever Parks Foundation’s Tour de Lites on Friday, December 13, at Independence Park! This annual family-friendly night ride takes cyclists through the beautifully lit Green Tee subdivision to enjoy dazzling light displays. Registration begins at 4:30 p.m. and the ride departs at 6 p.m.
