Notice About 2026 Tax Rates
Property tax rates in City of Pearland

Property tax rates in City of Pearland.
This notice concerns the 2026 property tax rates for City of Pearland. This notice provides
information about two tax rates used in adopting the current tax year's tax rate. The no-new-revenue
tax rate would Impose the same amount of taxes as last year if you compare properties taxed in both
years. In most cases, the voter-approval tax rate is the highest tax rate a taxing unit can adopt without
holding an election. In each case, these rates are calculated by dividing the total amount of taxes by
the current taxable value with adjustments as required by state law. The rates are given per $100 of
property value.

This year's no-new-revenue tax rate $0.637892/$100

This year's voter-approval tax rate $0.693542/$100

Pearland Fire Department

Purpose

The Pearland Fire Department is an all-hazards department responsible for fire suppression, emergency medical response, rescue, fire investigation, and inspections within its jurisdiction. The goal of the department is to provide for the safety and health of citizens within the City of Pearland and its Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ).

The department provides 24-hour service to the citizens of Pearland and responds to approximately 14,000 calls for service per year, serving an area of over 75 square miles with a population of more than 140,000.

Pearland is ranked as the 2nd fastest growing city in Texas and the Department is well suited to adapt to the ever-changing challenges this speed presents. Since 2007, PFD has evolved from a volunteer department to a 100% career department, staffing six stations 24/7/365.

History

In January 1944, fire destroyed Pearland Elementary School. There was no organized fire department at that time, so fire fighting was done by neighbors using buckets. Residents were determined not to let this happen again, and so, in 1946 Pearland’s Volunteer Fire Department was formed. By February 1947, there were 20 members.

The department continues to operate today utilizing full-time firefighters. The single element that has not changed since the formation of the department 70 years ago is the continual support from the community. Pearland Fire Department has transitioned into a fully-paid career fire department.
