The City of Pearland Animal Control and Adoption Center is hosting a training for Pet Adoption volunteers. As you may be aware, the paid staff at the City of Pearland is able to meet the physical needs of the pets at the Adoption Center, but have limited time for adoption outreach. Volunteers are in great demand to assist with off-site adoptions; answering questions about the pets and the adoption process. Additionally, having animals at off-site locations such as Petco and Petsmart helps us to socialize animals and familiarize them with basic skills which could result in more adoptable pets.
The Pet Adoption Orientation will be held at 7 p.m. on March 28, at the Pearland Recreation Center and Natatorium located at 4141 Bailey Rd. If you are 18 years old or older, you are invited to attend the training which will last approximately one hour. If you have already attended an orientation at the Adoption Center and are interested in assisting with mobile adoptions, please attend this orientation meeting. The problem of pet over-population belongs to the community as a whole. We are extremely grateful for any time you can spend to help us find “forever homes” for these pets.
Please contact us at 281.652.1970 to reserve your place at our Pet Adoption Orientation.
