Public Information Act 

Please submit all Public Information Requests to citysecretary@pearlandtx.gov.

Purpose: 
The City Secretary is the custodian of records for the City. Duties including keeping of minutes of all City Council Meetings, maintaining other permanent records of the City such as ordinances and resolutions, and conducting City elections. This department oversees open records requests from citizens and assists other departments with research.

Mission: 
The mission of the City Secretary's Office is to provide Council with all pertinent information for preparation for City Council Meetings; maintain all records and actions generated from City Council meetings, in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act; authenticate all official documents; safeguard official records and files; coordinate administration of City elections with Brazoria County; provide the Public with information in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act; maintain historical records and archives; administer oath of office to new City employees and officials; maintain claims information log; and issue beer and peddler permits and provide excellent customer service to the public in a timely, professional and efficient manner.
