Food Service License Renewal process for 2020

Please note that Food Service Licenses for 2019 will expire on December 31, 2019. All businesses required to obtain a Food Service License must renew for 2020. These include, restaurants, grocery and convenience stores, schools and daycares, and all brick and mortar businesses that sell either cooked or pre-packaged food. Please ensure you have applied in person or by mail no later than Wednesday, January 15th, 2020, in order to avoid any penalties. For your convenience and to ensure your application is in on time, we will begin receiving applications now, if paid by a check or money order only.

Applications will be date stamped when received in person, or the date of postmark, when mailed and all applications and payments will be placed on hold for processing after January 1st, 2020.

When paying by credit card, please submit applications after January 1st, 2020, as they will not be able to be processed for payment until then. Those applications submitted after January 1, 2020 will also be date stamped for your records.

Staff will begin processing applications after January 1, 2020. Once processed, you may pick up your new Health License Certificate at the Permits Department. Please click on the link for a copy of the Food Service License Application.

Municipal Code Ordinances Sec. 11-44.  License valid for one year.

All food service licenses and mobile food unit licenses shall be issued for a maximum of twelve (12) months.

  1. Food service licenses are valid for the calendar year issued and expire on December 31 of the year issued. Submission of the proper application and any required fee(s) are required for issuance of new food service licenses. Establishments obtaining a new food service license after January 15th of a calendar year will be charged a license fee prorated daily.

 

Temporary Food Establishments 

Application must be submitted at least one week prior to event for approval.  A permit must be obtained before temporary establishment may open. 

Permit Fee:         $50

Attach a detailed description of the operation.  Include process of purchasing of food items (including purchasing location), methods of food transportation, preparation process, food holding temperatures, food-serving length of time, and clean up procedures. 

A temporary food establishment may not operate for a period of more than 10 consecutive days in conjunction with a single event or celebration.  Permit must be on premise at event at all times.
