The Parks & Recreation Department volunteer positions are available within Youth and Adult Programs, Adaptive Recreation and Special Events. Please complete the entire one-time Application Process (see left side bar). If you are approved as a Parks volunteer, you will receive an email, then you are free to contact Pat Wiley for a shift request.

Event Photographer - Registered Volunteer needed
Do you have a camera? A little experience? Please email Pat Wiley if you are interested in becoming the Parks Volunteer Photographer. The duties include photographing aspects of events and programs.

A competition among City employees will require volunteers to help with registration, hospitality and cheering a team through the obstacle courses.

Food & Fun Fest

Event Description: 
Parks & Recreation will showcase family programs (flag football, fitness, adaptive basketball and archery, activities for preschoolers) and will need volunteer help with registration, assisting coaches, tour guides, handing out pamphlets and flyers

TAAF Winter Games
Location: 
Various areas in Pearland, depending on the sport

Event Description: 
Athletes from all over Texas will compete in one of the 15 sports offered over three days. Volunteers will help with registration, assisting referees, set-up, break-down, hospitality 

Outdoor Recreation Registered Volunteer Workday
Location: varies
Date: 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month
Shift: 8 to 11 a.m.
Details: Please contact Abbey Stripling for more information and to sign up at least one week in advance for one or more selected Wednesdays. Volunteer jobs may include maintaining the butterfly garden behind the Recycling Center, etc. Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes, dress for warm weather, and bring snacks, a hat and gardening gloves. Volunteers under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Please fill out the online application and send in a consent form for approval before volunteering for this workday (see Application Process to left). 

Natural Resources Volunteer Workday
Location: varies 
Date: First Thursday of each month 
Shift: 8 to 11 a.m. 
Brief description: Every month volunteers from all over the City are welcome to work with Natural Resources Manager Cullen Ondracek on an environmental project to enhance Pearland’s valuable natural resources.
October 5th project: Floating wetlands maintenance
November 2nd project: a water-smart garden will be installed
