- The Pearland Police Department currently has 185 sworn police positions. We offer an extremely compensation package for Officers, Cadets, and all other positions and jobs. For incoming police officers, the department has a variety of divisions and assignments including:
- Traffic Enforcement
- Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement
- K-9
- Criminal Investigations
- Crime Reduction Unit
- Community Outreach
- The department has numerous civilian, non-sworn positions including jailers, dispatchers, animal control officers, records clerks and more.

SIGN-ON BONUS
- The City of Pearland is currently offering a sign-on bonus of $15,000 for TCOLE-certified officers (payable as $576.93 for the first 26 pay periods). Additional rules and qualifications may apply. Contact a recruiter for more information.
LATERAL ENTRY PROGRAM
Are you ready to take the next step in your law enforcement career with the Pearland Police Department? Here's what you need to know to qualify for the lateral program:
- Must have 2+ years of continuous, full-time, paid service as a certified peace officer
- Must hold a valid TCOLE license at the time of hire
- No break in service longer than 1 year between agencies
- Must have law enforcement experience with full authority to enforce laws, investigate, make arrests, respond to calls, and carry a firearm.
- Qualified lateral applicants will be placed in our police pay schedule up to Step 4, based on their years of experience.
- 2 years of service =$80,204.04
- 3 years of service =$82,610.16
- 4 plus years of service = $85,088.47
OUT OF STATE PEACE OFFICER APPLICANTS
- In order for current out of state peace officers to be considered certified during the hiring process, they must have successfully completed the TCOLE licensure process for Out of State Peace Officers.
