New Process for Requesting Crash Reports

Effective immediately, the Pearland Police Department no longer processes crash report requests directly. All Texas crash reports must now be requested through the Crash Records Information System (CRIS), the official crash report system maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

CRIS provides a secure, standardized, and convenient way for individuals, insurance companies, and other authorized parties to obtain Texas Peace Officer’s Crash Reports online.

How to Request a Crash Report:

  1. Visit the TxDOT Crash Records Information System (CRIS) website.
  2. Select the option to request a crash report.
  3. Enter the required information (such as the crash date, location, and names of involved parties).
  4. Submit the request and pay the applicable fee.
  5. Download or receive the report once it becomes available.
Important Information:
  • The Pearland Police Department does not release or sell crash reports at the police department.
  • All requests must be made through the CRIS system and must meet eligibility requirements under Texas law.
  • Fees and processing times are set by TxDOT.
For questions regarding crash report eligibility or the request process, please visit the CRIS website. For other non-report-related inquiries, you may contact Pearland PD directly.
