New Garage Sale Sign-Up Process in 2025!

The City of Pearland has transitioned to a new garage sale application process within a platform called Cityworks. Residents will now have the option to complete the garage sale application online. Along with this, a new option to pay the application fee online has been added for further convenience!

To note, garage sale signs are still required to be picked up in person at the City Hall Annex (3523 Liberty Dr)

To access the Cityworks platform and submit a garage sale application, be sure to follow the steps below:

  1. Visit Cityworks and select the "Click Here to Sign Up" link text at the top of the page
  2. Enter a valid email address and a password to register, and check your inbox for a confirmation message. Click the link provided to log in to Cityworks
  3. Upon logging in, select the "New Application" link text at the top of the page and choose the Garage Sales button
  4. Choose the garage sale type and select the "Begin Application" text to start filling out all necessary information

Garage Sales

Display and sale of merchandise, at a location used as a primary residence, either by a resident or several residents for the purpose of sale or resale to the general public must obtain a permit. Also included are yard sales, neighborhood sales, or any other similar activity.

Garage Sale Guidelines

  • 2 garage sale events per year not to exceed 3 days per sale.
  • City will provide 3 signs per event, & only those signs may be used to advertise.
  • No more than 3 families per event.
  • A fee of $20 shall be assessed for each event.
  • Each participant in a community wide garage sale is required to have an individual permit.
  • Should you need to reschedule your event, request must be submitted in writing before the start date. For a reschedule request email Waterbilling@pearlandtx.govFor the event to be uploaded to the Garage Sale Map, application must be submitted and signs picked up before noon on Wednesday.Should your signs become damaged, and need to be replaced; please bring in your damaged signs for replacement to our office.

Garage Sale Sign Placement

When obtaining a garage sale permit, the City provides sign placement guidelines.It’s important to follow these rules – otherwise, misplaced signs will be removed. For example, signs aren’t allowed in public rights-of-way or attached to utility poles, trees, public buildings, or street signs, and must posted no earlier than 5 a.m. on the first day of the event and removed by 8 p.m. on the final day of the event.

Permit Application
